Building the local community

The shipyard has been, and remains, a major employer for people in Vågsøy, and its close ties with the local community have been handed down from generation to generation. Many current employees are the third or fourth generation of their family to work at the shipyard.

Blaalid has also helped to build the local community, making big contributions to a range of projects. Parks, sports facilities and the local football club Tornado have all benefited from Blaalid’s commitment to the community. For many years Blaalid was the main sponsor of Tornado, so all of the players entered the pitch with Blaalid’s logo on their shirts. Stadyard will remain committed to its community over the coming years.
